Nutt out coaches Spurrier!!!
Posted by sauce
The ol ball coach was out coached by Nutt on Saturday. Spurrier didn't run the ball with Boyd against a tired defense 3rd and goal from the 2. Why not take two shots with your 220lb back who's averaging 5.5 a carry. The second onside kick was very questionable?

You can scrutinize Nutt being conservative before half, and even the timeout to get the two point conversion. Some will complain about not throwing the ball in the second half, but that was the right call. When McFadden averages 9 a carry and Jones 13 a carry keeping the clock running is the right thing to do.

If fans want to complain about play calling in this one it should be South Carolina fans.

You're an idiot. Nutt had 3 times the talent on the field. Now go kill Bambi.
Smarter Hogville Analysis: If we lose, it's Nutt's fault. If we win, it's because we have enough superior talent to overcome Nutt's suckitude. Don't you know anything?

Actually, we do like the attitude common among great coaches, who often say, "When we win, it's because of the players; when we lose, it's my fault." And there can be no doubt that Nutt's boneheaded coaching has cost us three losses this year. But sometimes good coaching and superior talent combine for a victory, and both deserve acknowledgment.

In this case, sauce is right. Spurrier is regarded as one of the great college coaching minds, and he made some big mistakes. Nutt made some mistakes, too, but fewer of them, and for once, his preference to run the ball was exactly the right call Saturday night.

The great failing of (dumber) Hogville is that it has no credibility. Imagine a weather forecaster who predicted rain every day. You would never know when to carry your umbrella and when not to. Such a forecaster would have no credibility--even when he gets it right, his predictions and opinions are worthless because they don't produce anything useful.

(Dumber) Hogville is exactly the same way. Even when they are right--and they are generally right that Nutt's tenure at Arkansas should come to an end--they don't have any credibility, even though they are the epicenter of haterism. It was nice to hear ESPN's announcers make that point Saturday night.

Not everything Nutt does is wrong. But try getting that point across on Hogville, and you're aching for a beatdown.
