Re: Fresh Legs Midseason Review

Here's how I'd great everybody's performance so far, based on my own personal expectations for them coming into the season:Beverly: A
Hill: A-
Thomas: B+
Cranford: B
Welsh: B-
Ervin: C
Weems: C-
Hunter: C-
Townes: D
McCurdy: F
McGowan: F
Washington: Incomplete?
Heath: D

What has Weems done to deserve a C- while Cranford gets a B? What are you using as your basis for the grade?

Maybe a C- is harsh. No doubt Weems has been a better and more important player than Preston Cranford. But, based on his accolades, I expected him to be just a little bit better than he's been so far. I expected about 14 ppg and 5 rpg rather than 12 and 4. I expected a little more consistency (or less streakiness) and a little less tendency to be turnover prone. So I gave him a C-.
Smarter Hogville Analysis:
Well, there is no doubt he has been more important than Preston Cranford, but I would like fractionally more output, along with more and less of what amounts to the same thing, as well as just a smidge less of a tendency toward a certain tendency. 11.5 and 3.5 would have gotten him an F. My grading curve has cliffs in it, so watch out!
If you'd been in the Academic Center just before this was posted, you'd have seen the team gathered around the computer to see these midterm grades just like we used to check our Western Civ grade in college: "I wonder how ole Pee Pants is gonna grade me out? I am nervous. I needed that extra board per game to get his approval!"
